Visiting Arab Church, Nazareth 12/22/20

A young man who hated Jews and had always lived with hatred toward Jews in his heart believed in Jesus and planted a church by studying theology to love the Jews. Now he is helping the Jews and Arabic people and preaching the Gospel. The church had a big spiritual revival, now is big growing. This young mad is the Arab Pastor Saleem. One of our ministries as a staff of the Prayer Tower of the King of Kings connects with Messianic Jewish communities in Israel, keeps in touch with them, updates their requests to the King of Kings, and each prayer community intercedes together. We are like a channel to share all needs and let them provide their needs each other. This time we had a great meeting with this church and pastor Saleem, listening to his testimony which is truly dramatic enough to make a movie. He ministers with passion, does compassionate ministry, and prays every morning with the church members and his wife while walking around the streets to break the darkness of Nazareth. There was a call that a relief center was established. Pastor Saleem asked for winter blankets and heaters for church members who had suddenly lost their homes in a fire, we prepared and delivered 30 blankets and new jeans and clothes for the Arab kids. We were so grateful that we got the support from one of the mission organizations here. At that day we met Pastor Isarel who is ministering in Ashkelon unexpectedly with his disciples. We were envious to hear that the Jewish pastor is fellowshipping with the Arab pastor and working together for this land. Because I know how difficult it is to become one between Jews and Arabs here, and that day like a dream, Gentiles, Jews and Arabs, in front of the Lord's love for unity beyond all things, hold hands and praying fervently for the salvation of this land, people and all nation.

유대인을 증오해서 늘 가슴에 유대인에 대한 증오를 품고 살아온 한 청년이 예수님을 믿고 유대인을 사랑하기 위해 신학을 공부하여 교회를 세웠고, 예수님이 자라신 나사렛에서 교회를 개척하여 사역을 하며 주변의 아랍인들 유대인들을 돕고 복음을 전합니다. 바로 아랍인 살림 목사님입니다. 저희 사역중의 하나가 King of Kings의 Prayer Tower Staff으로 이스라엘 내의 메시아닉 유대인 공동체들과 연결이 되어 그들과 계속 연락하며 기도요청을 받으면 그것을 King of Kings에 update하고 각 기도 공동체가 함께 중보사역을 하기 위해 나누고 있는데 그런 과정 속에 연결된 귀한 교회와 목사님 입니다. 이분의 간증을 들으면 정말 영화 한편을 만들 수 있을 만큼 드라마틱 합니다. 열정으로 목회를 하시고 긍휼 사역을 하시고 매일 새벽 교인들과 사모님과 함께 나사렛의 견고한 진을 파쇄하기 위해 거리를 돌며 기도합니다. 그곳에 구제센터가 만들어 졌다고 연락이 왔습니다. 얼마전 갑자기 화재로 집을 잃은 교인들에게 겨울 담요와 난방기를 요청해 와서 이번에는 담요를 준비하여 전달 했습니다. 30개의 담요와 아랍 아이들에게 나눠줄 새 청바지와 옷들을 가지고 다녀왔습니다. 이것도 이곳에 있는 선교단체로의 후원으로 전달하게 되었으니 얼마나 감사한지요. 그리고 이곳에서 뜻하지 않게 애쉬켈론에서 사역하시는 유대인 (성함이 이스라엘)목사님과 그 분의 제자를 만났습니다. 유대인 목사님이 아랍목사님과 교제하며 이 땅을 위해 함께 동역한다는 사실을 들으니 감사하고 부러웠습니다. 이곳에서 유대인과 아랍인의 하나됨이 얼마나 어려운지 잘 알기에 모든 것을 넘어 하나되게 하시는 주님의 사랑 앞에 이방인과 유대인이 하나되어 손을 잡고 이땅을 위해 뜨겁게 기도하고 돌아왔습니다.
